Program Manager Senior
The Sr. Program Manager is responsible for managing a cross-functional Program Team to ensure successful program execution and launch throughout product life cycle. Responsible for facilitating the Product Realization Process (PRP) and Engineering Change Processes (PCR/ECN) to ensure Customer Satisfaction, Production Readiness, and PPAP’s on time. Act as the primary customer interface on all assigned programs. In addition this individual will serve as an overall mentor and coach for all the PM’s in a pre-defined area of the company. In addition the Sr. PM’s will serve as rotating leader of IPS team. When they are in this role those responsibilities will be added (See below and their workload adjusted to handle the leading/coordination of this activity).

Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to, the following:
- Provide regular coaching in complance and use of IPS.
- Be active member of IPS Steering committee team to drive continuous improvement of our IPS/Launch system.
- Faciltiate regular PM reviews of all the launches in the defined area of responsibility.
- Define scope of program both to company and its suppliers.
- Develop the Open Issues matrix.
- Develop and manage the Program Budget and establish the Cost Tracking Matrix. Report updates to management as directed.
Document Contol
- Develop the Program timing with internal milestones (e.g. design reviews, tooling, and PRP gate reviews) and external milestones
- Maintain all PRP forms and other Program Management tracking documents
- Maintain all of customer APQP documents
- Responsible for tracking, documentation and monitoring all aspects for the PCR/ECN process for a specific program
- Ensure relevant documents are amended and relevant personnel are made aware of the change requirements
Staff Management
- Conduct timely and complete performance evaluations of direct associates; and ensure timely and complete performance evaluation of associates reporting under your indirect supervision
- Assess subordinates skill sets, current and future development needs and take steps to mentor and develop them appropriately
- Set direction of department and hold individuals accountable to performance standard and strategic objectives
- Manage multiple discipline engineering teams to meet internal and customer requirements such as TS16494, APQP, and AIAG.
- Communicate program timeliness to internal company departments.
- Present required Phase-gate reviews to management.
- Participate in all DVP&R, DFMEA, and PDMEA development meetings.
- Support APQP and VA/VE activities.
- IPS Leader activities:
- Support the HR Dept on New Hire Orientation – IPS and ER Overview Training
- Support as required with TS16949 Audits for Product Realization.
- Make changes and updates to the IPS Launch Process/Checklists in the Shape PCN and all other Regional PCN’s
- Make changes and updates to the Engineering Request Checklist (this is coordinated with Joe VanLinden) in the Shape PCN and all other Regional PCN’s
- Make any changes necessary to all Documents associated with the IPS Process, approve them and route for the necessary approvals thru the Document Control System in Plex. The IPS Team Leader will be sent approval notifications on all other documents requiring the IPS Team Leaders Approval in the document control system in Plex.
- Support and Respond to all corrective action tasks associated with system failures.
- Review/Reply and Update the Lessons Learned Module tasks and best practices associated with the IPS or Engineering Request Modules.
- Make updates as required to the Production Realization Process (Procedure and Work Instruction). This needs to be reviewed and updated anytime changes are made to the launch process since we get audited to this by the TS Auditor.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors of Science in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field; Masters of Business Administration preferred.
- 5-10 Years experience in Program Management.
- Previous 5+ years experience in automotive industry.
- Certified Project Management Professional Certification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze technical procedures and customer specifications.
- Ability to effectively interact with associates and customers at all levels.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple activities, simultaneously, achieving excellent results.
- Well organized and disciplined.
- Regional Program Managers:
- Supervise Tooling Engineers and Quality Engineers (if applicable by region)
- Previous experience in start up of plant preferred.
- Fluent in English
