We are pleased to announce that Mark White will take over as the company’s president, effective October 1, following the retirement of former president, Bob Currier.
“I want to thank Bob for his 35 years of service to Shape. His professionalism and support has been outstanding. He will be missed, and we wish him the best in his retirement,” said Gary Verplank, Shape CEO and Chairman of the Board. “ Looking ahead, I believe Mark will lead the company well and I am confident in his abilities to keep Shape driving in the right direction.”
White has worked closely with Currier this past year, serving as interim president to fully prepare him for the new role. He joined the Shape Family in 2000 as the vice president of former sister company NetShape International, and was integral to the formation, integration and strategic development of Shape’s plastics business.
Beginning in 2008, White held leadership roles supporting the growth and development of Shape’s international business. Of White’s sixteen years with Shape, six of them were spent leading European operations on expat assignments in Germany and the Czech Republic.
White has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, including working in chemicals at Dow Corning and plastics at General Electric. White obtained a master’s degree in integrative management from Michigan State University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Western Michigan University.
